Hydraulic accumulators are crucial components in hydraulic systems, designed to store energy. These accumulators act as tanks that contain gas, typically nitrogen, under pressure. Depending on the type of accumulator, the gas is either inside a bladder or on one side of a piston. On the opposite side of the bladder or piston, hydraulic fluid is stored under higher pressure than the gas. This fluid can be released into various parts of the system, such as valves, to activate them when needed.

In addition to energy storage, hydraulic accumulators also function as pulse dampeners. They help reduce fluctuations and vibrations that may arise from the pumps in the system, ensuring smoother and more efficient operation.
